What are different kinds of applications ?

• Web Application: Serving End Users

• Web Services / Web APIs:

  • Hosting Reusable Services
  • Cross Platform Applications

• Traditional Desktop Applications/Thick

• Applications will be deployed on Servers with some OS (Linux/Windows) and application will be developed using some programming languages (C#, Java, Python, Ruby, etc …..)

What are different kinds of applications azure can host (Developer Perspective)

• Azure gives us different services to run the applications mentioned above on the following factors
  • Ownership
  • Simplicity
• Azure gives different services
  • to create virtual machine with os using Azure Virtual Machines
  • to create environment with preconfigured technologies like java/net/php etc using Azure App Service
