Azure fileshare NFS

  • ssd storage
  • it will supourt for linux only
  • NFS port need to open (2049)
  • access with in network (public will not suppourt)
  • secure file transver
  • vm , azure functions, aks and acs will be suppourted.
  • permissions
    • network allow
    • linx filesystem permissios (user, group) chown , chmod
  • it will suppourt for LRS and ZRS Redundancy

pre-requests for access azurefileshare nfs

  • resource group
  • vm
  • 2049, 443 port need to open ngs
  • storage account
  • create azure file share with nfs
    • 32 GB min
    • ssd
    • network end point
    • Root Squash
      • a – full access (read, wirte , delete)
      • Root Squash – no body / no default access
      • ALL Squash – all users provide access
  • install aznfs packages and mount afs
curl -sSL -O https://packages.microsoft.com/config/$(source /etc/os-release && echo "$ID/$VERSION_ID")/packages-microsoft-prod.deb
sudo dpkg -i packages-microsoft-prod.deb
rm packages-microsoft-prod.deb
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install aznfs -y 

sudo mkdir -p /mount/azurenfs22/demo-azurenfs
sudo mount -t aznfs azurenfs22.file.core.windows.net:/azurenfs22/demo-azurenfs /mount/azurenfs22/demo-azurenfs -o vers=4,minorversion=1,sec=sys,nconnect=4

sudo chown user:group /mount/azurenfs22/demo-azurenfs
# show the nfs storage space 
sudo df -h /mount/azurenfs22/demo-azurenfs 

Task

  1. create azure file share with nfs port and create endpoint and enable dns and allow specific vnet level
  2. create 2 vm and mount nfs check files populated and validate.
