Setting up Windows Active Directory

  1. Create a Windows Server 2016
  2. Setup Domain Controller Services
  3. Add some users, groups etc

Terms in Active Directory

  • Forest
  • Site
  • Tree
  • Object: User/System/Device information stored in Active Directory Domain Controller.

Lab Environment

  • Windows Server VM will be created (This VM simulates your organizational DC)
  • Create a user using Server Manager => Tools -> Users and Computers.
