  • How DNS Works
  • DNS Record Types
  • DNS Servers can be public or private

Public DNS

  • Generally when we buy a domain we get NS Servers info
  • AWS sells domains where azure doesn’t. But both AWS and Azure have name servers (Authorative Servers)
  • In AWS this is managed by service called as Route 53 and Azure has Azure DNS
  • They also offer private DNS servers which are connected to cloud networks.
  • Domain Seller Gives a Domain with
  • NS Records
  • SOA Records

Usecases

  1. Domains in private networks
  2. Adding entries (A Records) public and private
  3. DNS Routing
  4. Multi-Region use cases (Active-Active)
