NOSQL Databases

  • NOSQL Databases are designed
    • to scale horizontally.
    • flexible schema.
    • faster responses.
  • Types of NOSQL Databases
    • Document database:
      • Mongo DB
    • Key value stores
      • Redis
      • etcd
    • Wide Column databases
      • Cassandra
    • Graph Databases.
      • neo4j
  • Azure offers Relational, NoSQL databases as a service and cache using Redis as a service.

Azure SQL

  • Azure SQL is Microsoft SQL as a serivce. This offers databases capabilities of Microsoft SQL Servers latest version as a service.
  • Microsoft SQL Server is a database but it has some other softwares/features around it.
    • SSRS => PowerBI
    • SSIS
    • Warehouse services
    • Datatypes:
      • .net clr datatypes.
  • None of the above features are supported in Azure SQL.

  • Lets open firewall and add exceptions
