  • Regions are of two types
    • Region
    • Region with Zones
  • Regions can be chosen based on customers for the application and figuring out the lowest latency region on an average Refer Here
  • Sometimes for applications we need to setup disaster recovery then azure suggests paired regions or region pairs Refer Here
  • Refer Here for Azure Global network

Edge Location

  • Edge locations around the world are used for
    • Connectivity Refer Here
    • CDN (Content Delivery Networks) Azure CDN/Azure Frontdoor

Multi – Region Architecture

  • Active – Active
    • Latency Based
    • Region Based
  • Active – Passive
