Database Replication

  • Azure Supports replication of databases and also sync of data between databases
  • Replication is full data sync whereas sync supports selective sync between databases.
  • Creating Replicas

  • Post Replication we can add the replicated server to failover
  • Azure almost handles most of the administrative activities and automatic tuning is also supported.

Why was Azure SQL Instance Necessary?

  • If your organizations needs all the SQL Server features as what you were using on-premise, we need sql server managed instance.
  • Backups are exactly same as Azure SQL Database.
  • Azure SQL Managed instance will be part of your virtual network
