Azure Migrations

  • Scenario:
  • This organization has a data center and using hypervisor they are creating virtual machines of different configurations with different operating systems like
    • Window Server 2016
    • RedHat Linux 7
    • Ubunut20.04
  • On these virtual machines there are applications developed by this organization hosted
  • The Result of Migration will be as shown below
  • The Hypervisor is a software that is installed on the physical server which helps in creating Virtual Machines. Examples
  • VmWare
  • Hyper-V
  • KVM
  • Virtual Box
  • Azure Supports Migration from VmWare VSphere and Hyper-V on Windows Server
  • Azure also supports migrations from
  • Physical Servers (There are restrictions on OS)
  • AWS
  • GCP
  • Migration of Databases: Azure Supports Migration of On-Premises Databases. The following Databases Migration is supported by Azure
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MySQL
  • Postgres
  • MongoDB
  • AWS:
    • RDS
  • Azure Has Two Major Services
  • Azure Migration Service
  • Azure Database Migration Service
